Well the first night of Late Night Shopping has been ticked off!
Thank you to Will, Simon, Kath, Devon, Matt and Rory for being the first!
The evening was bitterly cold but we knew it would be and so those extra layers of clothing were essential. Hats were vital as were those warm mittens.
The roles we undertook were that of patrolling the main thoroughfare (High Street) providing a visible presence along with the many Police Officers. We wore high-viz surcoats and found the crowds pleasant and festive. There was plenty of music going on everywhere and the number of hot food stalls provided a myriad of different smells and temptations. My favourite had to be the Chilli and Indian food tents.
It was really good to see so many Club members out and about on Tuesday evening. I hope you all had a good time.
I will brief those volunteers for next Tuesday by email and over the weekend if I should catch you at the club.
For those veterans of the first night, who want to do this again, you only have to ask! Rory has already volunteered for 14th! Thanks......
This was a really good Community gesture and I think Totnes Town Council appreciated the work we put in, well done.
